The transcript strategy
(for listening)
For this exercise, students listen to a YouTube video in English and write down every word the speaker says for the first 30 seconds. Essentially, they create their own transcript for the first 30 seconds of the audio.
Students who have done this activity a few times a week
have improved their listening FAST. One student from Bahrain did this every day and went from needing a translator in meetings to
getting promoted and leading his own meetings in just two months!
When you work with us, we give you the exact recordings we want you to transcribe to make sure you're making progress as quickly as possible.
The 7x rule
(for learning new vocabulary)
According to a language-learning study, you
need to use a new word or expression SEVEN different times before you remember it. That's a lot!
Our lessons are based on this - even our 1-hour workshops.
We introduce
new vocabulary, idioms and phrasal verbs - and then have you practice, practice, practice! We give you speaking exercises, dialogues, texts, YouTube videos and writing activities - all with these new words.
The story method
(for getting the right grammar)
We want to be honest with you - grammar exercises don't work. They actually don't help people speak correctly in everyday conversation!
That's why we've come up with the story method.
Write and rehearse a story about your life (about your family, job, friends, or hobbies) using new grammar.
After rehearsing your story many times, this new grammar will become automatic when you speak.
When you work with us, we help you write your story, add new details to it and rehearse it with you.
The self-speak method
(for fluency)
People often read, write and listen in English at home, but never practice speaking!
This needs to change!
To get fluent in English, you have to speak out loud every single day for at least a few minutes.
Talk to your mirror, dog, the wall - anyone or anything!
After just a couple weeks of doing our daily speaking tasks, one construction engineer from Russia (now living in Australia) said that he can already communicate more easily with his coworkers! He actually feels the difference!
